Laboratory for Building Physics

The Laboratory for Building Physics is attached to the faculty of civil engineering of the University of Applied Sciences Bochum.

Following equipment is available for research:

• wall testing facility for the determination of the acoustic insulation value according to DIN EN ISO 140-4
• ceiling testing facility for the determination of the subsonic noise decrease of ceiling constructions and floorings according to DIN EN ISO 140-7
• reverberation room for the determination of acoustic noise absorption  according to DIN EN ISO 354
• air-tightness measurements via differential pressures according to DIN EN 13829
• thermography for the visualisation of thermal bridges and leakages
• building endoscopy for non-destructive investigations (principally in reconditioning works to assess cavities)
