Master Program Gelsenkirchen

Master Program Profile: Energy System Engineering

This master is a post-graduated program for students already holding a degree in elcetrical engineering, mechanical engineering, supply engineering, disposal engineering or process engineering.

By combining the core competences of several fakulties a system-orientated master program for comprehensive energy engineering tasks is set up. The students gain insight into classical as well as into modern energy transferring and distributing systems and learn to overlook theses systems in their entirety.

The international idea of the master program is highlighted by the opportunity to study abroad for a while with the support of the Universit of Applied Sciences Gelsenkirchen. There is a choice of three universities: the „Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Ingenieurs de Bourges" in France, the „Sheffield Hallam University" in Great Britain or the „Texas Tech University" in Lubbock, Texas, USA. Each of these three universities offers another kind of specification: The French partner qualifies its students in process and environmental engineering as well as in safety technology for nuclear power stations. Texas offers high performance pulse technology and the British Sheffield modern energy management

In Gelsenkirchen students gain competences in mechanical engineering and building energy supply as well as in special subjects such as electrical energy technology.

Energy system engineers examine and improve, for example, energy and process relevant activities with the aim of reduction and recovery.
